New Idea
Sliding electric wall outlets

Description: The fixed location of power outlets in walls and floors normally dictate where appliances and electrical equipment can be installed at home and in the office place. In most cases a long extension cord will provide a temporary solution but this also means that the visible cord has to be concealed or tucked away behind furniture to prevent any trip hazard.

This sliding wall outlet system comprises an elongated PVC conduit that is installed along the length of the wall. The interior of the conduit is configured with guide channels and electric contact strips that supply an uninterrupted current of electricity along the interior of the conduit.

A female slide that can be repositioned long the length of the conduit serves at an adjustable outlet for a male adaptor that is configured with a socket to accommodate the plug of an appliance.

A male adaptor that is coupled to the slide can be repositioned along the length of the conduit to areas where the homeowner wishes to set up appliances. Multiple slides may be contained within a single conduit allowing several appliances to be powered simultaneously with different male adapters to suit the type of plug fitting on the appliance.
