Description:
The nose pads on a pair of sunglasses are specifically designed to swivel about a pivot hinge, which is screwed fixed to the spectacle frame.
The result being that the pads are only able to swivel in one of two directions and any special adjustment to compensate for nose anatomy must be conducted by an optometrist.
This nose pad mount for a pair of spectacles comprises a bearing arm, which is soldered to the spectacle frame. The distal free end of the arm is formed with a ball configured to snap-fit within a socket, which is an integral part of the rubber nose pad.
Therefore, the nose pad is able to swivel in multiple directions and automatically conforms to the anatomy of the wearer's nose. The nose pad may alternatively be configured for attachment to an intermediate ball, which is removable from the bearing arm. This allows for a greater degree of customisation by the wearer without requiring an optometrist to make minor adjustments.
